In partnership with GQ, we were asked to develop a branded content film with up and coming DJ and producer 3LAU. The spot was to introduce the GQ digital audience to a new artist while featuring seasonal eyewear & fashions—a profile with style and personality.

 

Setting aside the traditional interview concept, DBA instead crafted a profile film that introduced 3LAU in a more energetic and abstract spirit. Images of his live performances, light, texture, and cinematic hero shots were linked through sparse but emotive dialog about the artists personal inspirations and creative approach. The goal was to create a film that didn’t tell the GQ audience about an exciting new musical artist—but allowed them to experience the energy and vibe in every moment.
